Creating ACA offers
Complete the following steps to create Affordable Care Acet
(ACA) offers at any time during the year, and to capture offers that occurred prior to
an organization's enablement of ACA reporting. Repeat these steps to ensure offers are
created and approved for the coverage classes and benefits groups you will report for
ACA compliance.
- Select Benefits > Reports > ACA > Offers.
- Click Create Offers.
- Specify this information:
- Coverage Class
- Select the type of individuals for whom you would like to create an ACA offer. The options are Employees, Retirees, and COBRA Participants.
- Method
- Select the originating source of information for the offers. If you select Enrollment Events, an ACA offer is generated for individuals in the coverage class who have enrollment events. If you would like offers generated only for individuals with a specific enrollment event, you can specify that event in the Enrollment Event field. If you select Eligibility, offers are generated for individuals that are eligible for a plan that enables ACA reporting. If you select Enrollment, offers are generated for individuals enrolled in benefit plans that enable ACA reporting.
- Approved
- Select this field to have the newly created offers show on the Approved tabs on the Offers page. If this field is not selected, they will show on the Draft tabs. Only Approved offers are used to create IRS employee and employer reporting.
- Enrollment Date
- If you chose Enrollment Events as the Method, you can specify a date range of the enrollment events included in the offer generation.
- Enrollment Event
- If you chose Enrollment Events as the Method, you can specify a specific enrollment event for which to generate offers. If this field is left blank, offers will be generated for individuals who have all of the enrollment events.
- Eligible
- If you chose Eligibility as the Method, you can specify a date range of eligibility to include in the offer generation.
- Offer Begin Date
- If you chose Eligibility as the Method, you can select whether the offer begins on the Source Date, which is the date the eligibility started, or a Specified Date of your choice.
- Benefit Plan
- If you chose Eligibility as the Method, you can select up to 12 specific benefit plans for which offers are generated.
- Enrolled
- If you chose Enrollment as the Method,
- Offer Begin Date
- If you chose Enrollment as the Method, you can select whether the offer begins on the Source Date, which is the date the enrollment started, or a Specified Date of your choice.
- Benefit Plan
- If you chose Enrollment as the Method, you can select up to 12 specific benefit plans for which offers are generated.
- Employment ID
- Optionally, select the Employment ID of the resource for which offers are generated.
- Benefit Group
- Optionally, select the Benefit Group for which offers are generated.
- Click Submit.
