Creating flex credits based on salary
You can define flex credits based on Salary, Age, Years of Service, Dependents, and Lifestyle. This procedure outlines the tasks to define your flex credits based on salary.

- In Benefits > Plans > Flex Plans, open a flex plan and select the Flex Credits tab.
- Click Create and select the Salary tab.

Specify this information:
- Base Type

Select the type of salary to use for the flex credit calculation. The values are:

Annual Pay Rate Primary - Annual salary for the employee's primary work assignment.

Annual Pay Rate Eligible - Annual salary for work assignments that meet eligibility criteria on the Flex Credit Benefit Group.

Annual Pay Rate All - Annual salary for all active work assignments for the employee.

- Additional Type

These enable the use of Other Amount 1-5 from the employee profile.
- Date Type

Select the date type to use to determine employee salary.

Current - Calculates the employee's salary based on the system date on which flex credits are calculated

First of Month - Calculates the employee's salary based on the first of the month in which flex credits are calculated.

As Of Date - Calculates the employee's salary on the month and day that you specify in the Month Day and optional Year field.

If you select As Of Date in the Date Type field, specify the month, day, and year that is used to determine an employee's salary for flex credit calculations. If you leave the Year field blank when using the As Of Date, the employee's salary is calculated on the latest month and day specified. The employee's salary is calculated from the exact month, day, and year that you specify.
- Minimum

Specify the minimum salary used for calculating flex credits. If an employee's salary is less than this amount, this amount is used to calculate flex credits for the employee.
- Maximum

Specify the maximum salary used for calculating flex credits. If an employee's salary is greater than this amount, this amount is used to calculate flex credits for the employee.
- Rounding Method

Select the method of rounding the employee's salary.
- Round To

Specify the decimal place to which the salary should be rounded. For example, to round to the nearest $100, specify 100.
- Click Save or select another tab to complete the flex credits.
