Finalizing the benefits of COBRA participants
You must finalize the COBRA
participant's benefits before it is processed.
After a COBRA-eligible life event is finalized for an employee, the benefits administrator must finalize the employee's benefits.
These are the features of a COBRA-eligible life event:
- A COBRA occurrence type
- A COBRA enrollment event in the system
- A COBRA participant that is created
These situations are defined as COBRA
occurrences:
- Termination of an employee
- Reduction of an employee's work hours
- Divorce
- Open enrollment

- Select the plans for all benefits that are available to the COBRA participant.
