Creating benefit plans under a flex plan
Use this procedure to define a plan that is under a Flex Plan.
- Select Benefits > Plans > Benefit Plans and click Create.

Select the Flex tab and specify
this information:
- Flex Plan

If this benefit plan is under a flex plan, select the flex plan for this benefit plan.
- Flex Core

A core plan is the minimum coverage an employee must elect under a flex plan. If a core plan exists for a plan type, employees cannot waive coverage under the plan type. Only one plan under each plan type can be a core benefit plan under a flex plan.
Select Yes if the plan is a core benefit plan. The default value is No.
Select Spouse if employees can waive coverage in favor of their spouse's health plan. To waive a core plan for an employee, the Spouse Coverage check box must be selected for the benefit type in the Benefits tab for the employee.

In the Reduces Flex Credits section, specify this information:
- Flex Deduction Code

If defining a flex benefit plan and employees can use flex credits to pay for benefits, select a flex company deduction. If this field is left blank, flex credits are not used to pay for the benefit. Deduction Codes are defined in Set Up.

In the Increases Employee Pay section, specify this information:
- Flex Pay Code

If employees are given flex credits for choosing this plan, you have these options.

If you select a flex pay code, when an employee elects this plan, the application creates a standard time record for the employee using the plan's frequency table.

If you leave this field blank, when an employee elects this plan, the application creates or updates the employee's standard time record with the flex pay code in Flex Plan.

- Click Save.
