Defining benefit plan export details

You can define a benefit plan's export details after you create the benefit plan. You can do this from the benefit plan, as described in the steps below, or in Benefits > Utilities > Interface > Interface Set Up > Benefit Plans.
  1. Select Benefits > Plans > Benefit Plans.
  2. Create the benefit plan. See Creating basic benefit plans.
  3. Select the Exports tab.
  4. Specify this information:
    Resource Benefits Export

    Select this check box to create export records for enrollments in this plan.

    HIPAA 834

    Select the check box to create records when enrollment changes occur in this plan. The records created are used to create the HIPAA 834 file.

    Plan Sponsor ID

    Specify a plan sponsor ID. By HIPAA mandate, the ID is the Federal Tax ID number assigned by the IRS to the employer. This field can be used to override the Plan Sponsor ID on Benefits Company. If you are not creating the HIPAA 834 file, then leave this field blank.

    Member ID Type

    Select whether to use the employee's social number or the employee or dependent number as an identifier for the subscriber when passing enrollment data to the provider.

    Insurance Line

    Select the line of insurance product that corresponds to this plan.

  5. Click Save.
