Creating cycle-based general ledger liability tables

Use this procedure to define a cycle-based table to use in General Ledger Rule.

  1. Select Absence Management > Set Up > Plans and Components > Tables.
  2. Click New.
  3. Specify this information:
    Absence Table
Specify a code for this table.
    Description
Specify a description to further define the general ledger liability table.
    Version Date
Specify a version date for the table. If you must change a value on the table, add a new version date to the table to preserve the historical table data. The processing date on the calculation programs determine what version of the table is used.
    Table Type
    Select Hours or Earnings.
    Rule Type
    Select General Ledger.
    Cycle Frequency
Specify the frequency for the cycle based table. Frequency determines the unit of time for which length of service is measured at the point where amounts are posted to general ledger. Frequency refers to the service level values in the From Cycle field.
    Cycle Service Type
Select whether the From Cycle fields pertain to amounts within the Plan Type or Plan.

For example, if you select Plan Type, the length of service is based on the earliest Service Begin date on all Resource Plan records with the same plan type. If you select Plan, the length of service is based on the earliest Service Begin date on each specific Resource Plan record.

  4. Click Save. The Details tab is available.
  5. Click New.
  6. Specify this information:
    From
Specify the start of the cycle range. Leave this field blank on the first record if liabilities should begin from cycle zero. No length of service is required.
    Percent
Specify a percent use in the table.
    • Percents are multiplied if used with a calculation.
Note: Specify 50 percent as 50.0000.
    Calculation
Specify a calculation use in the table. If a percent is specified, it is applied to the result of the calculation.
  7. Click Save.
