Creating reason codes
Use this procedure to define reason codes to indicate which plan balance is decreased.
- Select Absence Management > Set Up > Codes and Classes > Reason.
- On the Codes tab, click New.

Specify this information:
- Reason Code
- Specify a reason code.
- Description
- Specify a description for the reason code.
- Reason Type
- Select whether the reason code identifies an absence type event that should be included in absence tracking reports.
- Plan Balance
- Select which, if any, type of plan balance are updated by events that have this reason code.
- Service Code
- Specify a default service code to be associated with this reason code.
- Points
- If a point system is used for attendance tracking, specify the number of points that are associated with an absence/resource event that has this reason code. This is used as the default value when service records are created, but it can be overridden.
- Click Save.
