Creating hours amount formulas

  1. Select Absence Management > Set Up > Plans and Components > Formulas.
  2. Click New.
  3. Specify this information:
    Absence Formula
    Specify an absence formula.
    Description
    Specify a description for the absence formula.
    Formula Type
    Select Hours Amount.

    The Hours Service Type field is available.

    Hours Service Type
    Specify a service type. Life to Date, Year to Date, or Prior Year Total.

    These hours are based on the Hours Service Class you select on the Hours Based Accrual Table.

  4. Click Save.
  5. On the Details tab, click New.
  6. Specify this information:
    From Hours
    Specify the start of the hours range. Leave this field blank on the first record if the formula amount is required even when no hours are recorded or calculated.

    Use Length of Service Calculate to create records to use in this formula.

    Amount
    Specify either a flat amount or an amount that will be multiplied by the hours or earnings from a service class. If you specify an amount, leave the calculation field blank.
    Service Class
    Specify the service class that contains the hours or earnings to be multiplied by the amount column.
    Calculation
    Specify the calculation that pertains to the hours range. If you select a calculation, leave the Amount field blank.
