Specifying the import type for time-off balances

Administrators can specify the source from which time-off balances are imported to plans and then accessed by administrators, managers, and employees.

  • HR Talent: Time-off balances are calculated in HR Talent.
  • WFM: Time-off balances are calculated in and imported from Workforce Management. If this option is selected, then the plan cannot use rules for service, accrual, limit or usage specified. Balance rules for hours or earnings cannot be specified.
  • External: Time-off balances are calculated from an external source and imported to HR Talent. If this option is selected, then the plan cannot use rules for service, accrual, limit or usage specified. Balance rules for hours or earnings cannot be specified.
  • Determined Per Plan Type: Organizations can use multiple import types. For example, customers with absence plans that already are in the HR Talent system can select this method and then configure the import source for each plan individually, adding plans that use other import types.

If a method is specified and saved, then the method can be changed only to Determined Per Plan Type unless the plans meet these criteria:

  • If there are no absence plans or all absence plans have service, accrual and limit rules, then the method can be changed to HR Talent.
  • If there are no absence plans or none of the absence plans have service, accrual, limit, usage or balance rules, then the method can be changed to WFM or to External.
