Copying dashboards

In addition to building a new dashboard, from the Collection Manager, there are two methods available to copy existing dashboards. Your specific requirements can help determine which method to choose.

Dashboard Only

The option makes a copy of the current dashboard. The new dashboard continues to reference all the original objects on the dashboard including filters, images from catalog, and Visualizer and Designer reports. Any change to those items are reflected on the copied dashboard.

The Dashboard Only method creates a copy of the dashboard, but does not create copies of the reports, filters, or images from the Report Catalog. The reports and other objects that display on the new copied dashboard are still Infor-delivered content. Therefore, any change you make to these objects affects the original dashboard and are also subject to overwrite during a Customer Update.

Dashboard & Reports

The option makes a copy of the dashboard and creates new copies of these elements: filters, images from catalog, and Visualizer and Designer reports used in the dashboard. The new dashboard uses these copied items. Any change to the original items are not reflected on the copied dashboard.

The Dashboard & Reports method creates new copies of the objects with the names of the objects prefixed with Copy of‘. This includes filters which display in the Filter Panel. Note that the new reports are automatically copied to the collection folder where the dashboard was copied.
