User actions

User actions are used to send work to a user’s Inbasket or to their email address. These actions are tasks that must be performed so that the IPA flow can continue when an error is encountered or when a decision is required.

Users that belong to the BirstSystemAdmin task are notified and required to select an action to proceed. All User Actions are configured with a timeout of one day. If no action is taken after a day, the process is automatically terminated.

When the Data Flow to Analytics workflows are run, user actions are created for these scenarios:

Full Load is run

When the Data Flow to Analytics Full Load workflow is run, a notification is sent to the user to confirm that a full load is initiated. The user must select from these options to continue:

Option Description
Proceed loading data to Active Environment Selecting this option directs the IPA to proceed with the full data process. This involves performing a reset of replication sets and processing a full load of data in the Birst Active (ATC) spaces.
End Process Selecting this option directs the IPA to proceed.

Full Load is run, Stand Up Staging is true

When the Data Flow to Analytics Full Load workflow is run and the StandUpStaging parameter is set to true, a notification is sent to the user to confirm that a full load for the Staging (STC) environment is initiated. The user must select from these options to continue:

Option Description
Proceed loading data in Staging Environment Selecting this option directs the IPA to proceed with the full data process in the staging or STC spaces. This option involves performing a reset of replication sets and processing a full load of data in Birst.
Proceed loading data in Active Environment Selecting this option directs the IPA to disregard the StandUpStaging parameter and proceed with the full data process in the active or ATC spaces. This option involves performing a reset of replication sets and processing a full load of data in Birst.
End Process Selecting this option directs the IPA to skip remaining steps and end the IPA flow.

Replication reached timeout limit

When the replication takes longer than the time limit set in the MaxRepSetTimeOutMinutes parameter, a notification email is sent to the user which indicates that the replication process did not finish within the set time threshold. We recommend that the user check the replication ueue by navigating to Async Administrator > All Queues. In Queues, select Data Replication Queue to see if there are any failed triggers that can cause delays. After checking the replication queue, the user must select from these options to proceed:

Option Description
Rerun Replication Set Selecting this option restarts the running of all the replication sets.
Resume Replication Checking Selecting this option directs IPA to continue to wait for the replication sets to complete processing.
Proceed to Birst Orchestration Selecting this option directs IPA to skip checking the replication sets and proceed to run the Birst orchestration
Note: Select this option only when you have manually confirmed that the replication sets are complete.
End Process Selecting this option directs the IPA to skip the remaining steps and end the IPA flow

The Delete All Processed Data Birst orchestration run failed

When the Delete All Processed Data orchestration in Birst fails, a notification is sent to the user. The user must select from these options to proceed. We recommend that the user navigates to Infor Birst > Admin > Orchestration to view the error and investigate before choosing to retry.

Option Description
Retry Delete All Processed Data orchestration Selecting this option directs IPA to retry running the Delete All Processed Data orchestration. Run restarts from Step 1 of the orchestration.
End Process Skip the remaining steps and end the IPA flow.

The Reset Variables Birst orchestration run failed

When the Reset Variables orchestration in Birst fails, a notification is sent to the user. The user must select from these options to proceed. We recommend that the user navigates to Infor Birst > Admin > Orchestration to view the error and investigate before choosing to retry.

Option Description
Retry Reset Variables orchestration Selecting this option directs IPA to retry running the Reset Variables orchestration. Run restarts from step 1 of the orchestration.
Proceed to Extract and Process orchestration Selecting this option directs IPA to skip the Reset Variables orchestration run and proceed to run the Extract and Process orchestration.
Note: Choose this option when you have manually run and completed Reset Variables in Birst.
End Process Selecting this option directs the IPA to skip the remaining steps and end the IPA flow.

The Extract and Process Birst orchestration run failed

When the Extract and Process orchestration in Birst fails, a notification is sent to the user. The user must select from these options to proceed. We recommend that the user navigates to Infor Birst > Admin > Orchestration to view the error and investigate before choosing to retry.

Option Description
Retry Extract and Process Orchestration Selecting this option directs IPA to retry running the Extract and Process orchestration. Run restarts from Step 1 of the orchestration.
End Process Selecting this option directs the IPA to skip the remaining steps and end the IPA flow.
