User actions

The Swap STC ATC workflow creates user actions for the these scenarios:

STC is in an earlier or the same version with ATC

If the STC is in an earlier or the same version as the ATC, the user receives a notification and must select from these options to continue:

Option Description
Proceed running Selecting this option directs the IPA to disregard the version and proceed to run the workflow.
End Process Selecting this option directs the IPA to skip remaining steps and end the IPA flow

Another upgrade process is running

A value of “In Progress” for the IPA_UpgradeVariable means that another process is running and a new process does not run.

For scenarios where the IPA flow was canceled by the user, processing failed to complete, or an error occurred, the user receives a notification and must select from these options to continue:

Option Description
Restore backup spaces Selecting this option directs the IPA to restore ATC and STC spaces from backups. User must rerun from step 3: Load Data to Staging Environment in the Upgrade process.
End Process Selecting this option directs the IPA to skip remaining steps and end the IPA flow.
Note: If the backup spaces are not available, the restore option fails. The user must run the SMD to STC workflow.

Infor delivered workflows are in read-only

As part of the upgrade process, Infor-delivered Birst orchestrations are being recreated to the latest version. When workflows have been identified as read-only and cannot be deleted or modified, a notification is sent to the user. Instructions are provided to request deletion of these workflows through Service Now ticket assigned to Birst Support.

The user must select from these options to continue:

Option Description
Proceed running

Selecting this option directs the IPA to proceed. The IPA creates new workflows prefixed with the version.

For example 2024.10.00 –HR – Extract and Process.

End Process Selecting this option directs the IPA to skip remaining steps and end the IPA flow.

Birst workflow for the copyspace and swap, repoint connection, or repoint packages run failed after maximum retries

If the Birst workflow for the copyspace, repoint connection, or repoint packages encounters an error, the IPA workflow initiates a rerun of the Birst workflows from the failed step. If the rerun continues to fail after the maximum retry count of 4, a notification is sent to the user. The user must select from these options to continue:

Restore

Selecting this option directs the IPA to restore the ATC and STC spaces from backups. The user must re-run from step 3: Load Data to Staging Environment in the Upgrade process.

End Process Selecting this option directs the IPA to skip remaining steps and end the IPA flow.

Restore of backup spaces has completed

When the ATC and STC backup spaces are restored after a failed run, the user receives a notification and must select from these options to continue:

Delete backup spaces Selecting this option directs the IPA to delete the ATC and STC backup spaces that were created
End Process Selecting this option directs the IPA to skip remaining steps and end the IPA flow

Workflow has completed

After the upgrade, STC spaces is in an unusable state. The user receives a notification and must select from these options to continue:

Option Description
Restore STC Selecting this option directs the IPA to restore the metadata of the STC spaces from backups .DataFlow Full Load for Staging may be run to load data into the STC spaces as required.
Skip Restore of STC Selecting this option directs the IPA to skip the restoration of STC spaces and continue with the next steps.

Workflow has completed

After the STC and ATC Swap workflow is completed, the user receives a notification and must select from these options to continue:

Option Description
Delete backup spaces Selecting this option directs the IPA to delete all the backup spaces that were created during the upgrade process.
End Process Selecting this option directs the IPA to skip the remaining steps and end the flow.
