Safety categories to enhance search functionality

Safety observations, incidents, and near misses can now be organized into safety categories. Users can then filter safety observations, incidents, and near misses by category to locate them quickly.

To use this functionality, the Employee Safety module must be enabled at the organization level.

To create a safety category, sign in as Health & Safety Management and select Set Up > Safety > Safety Categories. Click Create and specify the Safety Category and Description.

You can also designate categories to new and existing safety observations, incidents, and near misses records with the new Safety Category field located in each record.

COVID-19 log for employee tracking

Employers can track employees who test positive for COVID-19 with a new COVID-19 log that is printable and compliant with the OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS). Employers can specify the date of the positive test along with additional details related to COVID-19. Employees have access to a masked log that excludes identifying information about other employees.

Health and safety administrators can specify establishment contact information on the COVID-19 Contact tab in Set Up > Safety > Report Configurations > OSHA > Establishments.

Administrators, facility managers, managers, and employees can report COVID-19 observations:
  • Administrators and facility managers can report a COVID-19 observation in Safety Management > Report COVID-19 Incident.
  • Managers can report a COVID-19 observation in Health And Safety > Report COVID-19 Incident.
  • Employees can report a COVID-19 observation or incident of their own in Health and Safety > Safety Observations > Report COVID-19 Incident. This creates a new safety observation for both the employee and the health and safety administrator.

Health and safety administrators can enable the COVID-19 log by first creating a new incident type in Set Up > Safety > Incident Types > Create and selecting the Active field. They then must select Covid-19 in the Incident Type field in Set Up > Organization Configuration > OSHA Report Templates. This enables all menu items and actions associated with the COVID-19 log.

The COVID-19 log can be found in Health & Safety Management in Reports > Safety Reports > COVID-19 Log.

Caution: 
Customers who previously implemented the configuration for the COVID-19 log must complete the steps outlined in KB 2236009 on the Infor Support Portal before using the new COVID-19 log.
