Configuring standard field sets

Specify the standard fields to hide or show and for some fields to make editable and required. You can set default values for some standard fields. By default, standard fields are shown on the form.

  1. Click Configurable Lists & Sets.
  2. Click Standard Field Sets.
  3. Double-click a standard field set.
  4. Specify this information:
    Description
    Specify a description of the field set.
    Active
    Select this setting to make the field set available in the system.
    Default For New Topics
    Select this setting to apply this field set to new topics by default.
  5. Click Single Property Fields.
  6. Fields that are read-only and fields that are fillable are shown. To remove a field from the case form, clear the associated check box.
  7. Click Multi Property Fields and specify this information:
    Display
    To remove a field from the case form, clear the associated check box
    Editable
    This applies to the Resolve on First Contact setting. Select this setting to make the field editable on the case form.
    Required
    Specify that the field is always required or never required on the case form. With some fields, you can specify that the field is required when the case is closed.
    Default
    Select this setting to apply the field to the case form by default.
  8. Click Substatus Settings and specify this information:
    Display
    To remove a field from the case form, clear the associated check box
    Editable
    This applies to the Resolve on First Contact setting. Select this setting to make the field editable on the case form.
    Required
    Specify that the field is always required or never required on the case form. With some fields, you can specify that the field is required when the case is closed.
    Default
    Select this setting to apply the field to the case form by default.
  9. Click Save.
