About task types

There are several types of tasks:

  • Transition form tasks are used to collect information in a task. For example, a candidate completes the Personal Information form, and the information gathered there is saved to the system.
  • Content tasks are used to communicate information to a candidate or resource. Examples include dress code policies, instructions, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Instructions tasks are used to provide directions.
  • URL tasks are used to direct the users to an external site. This task type can be used to direct a new hire to schedule a drug test or background screening. It can also be used to complete a survey or read external content.
  • Tax forms are used to gather information for state tax forms.
  • Send email and complete tasks are used to schedule tasks that use email templates to send reminders to administrators.
  • Form I-9 tasks are used to gather information for the federal Form I-9 tax form.

Content, form, and instruction tasks can include an acknowledgment or signature. An acknowledgment is a check box that is used to verify the user's understanding or verification of content. A signature is also used to indicate an understanding of or verification of content.
