Creating new calculation methods

  1. Select Administrator > Transition Management > Setup > Calculation Methods.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Calculation Method
Specify a unique name for the calculation method and provide a description.
    Active
The calculation method is active by default. To deactivate it, clear the check box.
    Type
    • Candidate: Select this option when the calculation method applies to candidates.
    • Candidate: Select this option when the calculation method applies to resources.

Candidates and employees are stored separately. Separate calculation methods must be created and maintained to ensure the appropriate dates are available for prospective and current employees.

    Units
Specify the number of days, weeks, semimonths, months, or years that apply to the calculation method. Then select the unit type: Days, weeks, semimonths, months, or years.
    Calculation Date Option
You can specify the event on which the calculation method is based. For example, you can specify two days before the task due date. Select the calculation date option, on, after, or before, and then select the date that is used for the calculation.
    Note:
When you create the calculation method to hide the transition program from the candidate landing page, use one of these:
    • The Calculation Date Option of Transition Program Completion Date.
    • A candidate- or resource-related date.

The calculation of Hide Date occurs when the transition program is completed and is not related to a specific task.
