Job boards and job posting rules

Job boards

Job boards are internet job postings where requisitions are posted. Each job board defines a job board location. A job board can be internal, such as an intranet reserved for employees only. It can be external, such as an organization's career site, or a third-party job board with which your organization has a contract.

A requisition can be posted to multiple job boards. The recruiter can add job boards to a requisition individually, or through a job posting rule. Job boards retrieve information from the requisition, so recruiters should define a requisition fully before assigning job boards to it.

You can customize the appearance of external job boards without having to restart your application by attaching a configurable UI file.

Third-party job boards

Third-party job boards are created in the same manner as internal or external job boards. The only difference in the setup is that there is usually a per-posting fee associated with a third-party job board.

Talent Acquisition uses the HR-XML standard to interface with third-party job board providers such as Indeed. Your organization can post to any provider that is compatible with the HR-XML standards.

When posting to a third-party job board, an HR-XML file is created in the appropriate format and is saved in the HRXMLOutput > PositionOpening directory, under the job board name. Your IT organization then interfaces with the third-party career site to post the job. A customizable link is provided from the job posting on the career site to your career site. You can also provide contact information for candidates to email or mail resumes to recruiters.

Job posting rules

A job posting rule associates one or more job boards with time constraints. For example, the recruiter administrator can define a job posting rule to post a requisition immediately on the internal job site and then after two weeks on the external job site.

When a job posting rule is assigned to a requisition, all job boards included in the job posting rule are automatically added to the requisition. When the recruiter posts the requisition, the system applies any delays dictated by the posting rules.
