Job posting templates

You can use job posting templates to define the job descriptions that are displayed on job postings. These templates use variable text that can retrieve information from a job, a position, or both.

When a recruiter selects a template on a requisition, the requisition description retrieves information from the job or position that the requisition is associated with. The template controls which information is retrieved and from where.

A job posting template can consist of a combination of typed-in text and variable text.

A template can use variable text to retrieve detailed information from the job or position associated with the requisition. For example:

  • The Summary text, the Responsibilities text, and/or the Other information text.
  • The location, location of job, working schedule, shift, Exempt From Overtime status.
  • The Detailed Responsibilities.
  • A list of qualifications associated with the job and position and whether they are essential to the job being posted.
  • A list of competencies and skills associated with the job and position and whether they are essential to the job being posted.
Note: The template can also be defined to include only essential qualifications.

Recruiters can modify the text of the requisition description after the description generated from the template appears on the requisition.

When recruiters add job boards to the requisition, the default for each job board is used for the requisition description. Recruiters can also modify the description on each job board. It is the job board description that is displayed on the job posting. However, if a requisition description is updated after job boards are created, the updates are not displayed on the requisition's existing job boards.
