Defining recruiting questions
- Sign in as Administrator and select Talent Acquisition > Code Setup > Questions > Question Catalog.
- Select the Questions tab.
- Click Create.

Specify this information:
- Question Catalog

This is a read-only field. The Question Catalog is always RECRUITING.
- Effective Date
-
Specify the date that the recruiting question is available.
- Question Category
- Specify the category to which the question belongs.
- Question

Specify the question.
- Active
-
The question is active by default. Clear this check box to make the recruiting question inactive. Inactive recruiting questions are not displayed in some lists.

On the Question Details tab, specify this information:
- Response Type

Specify the type of response expected. Additional options are available, depending on the response type. For example, if you select a Yes No response type, then you can select the preferred answer. If you select a List response type, then you must specify the answers available to the candidate on the List Answers tab.
- Include In Application?

If you select Yes, then candidates can see the question when they apply. If you select No, then the question is stored on the job application for subsequent interviews.
- Requirement Question
- Specify that the response is used to determine if the candidate meets or exceeds requirements for the position. This feature must be enabled and configured before questions can be specified as requirement questions. See Enabling questions. Requirement questions must be required.
- Is This A Screen Out Question?

If the question is used to screen out candidates, then select Yes and specify a preferred answer. Only Yes No, Yes No Text, and List questions can be used to screen out candidates.
- Is A Response Required?

Select this check box to require the candidates to respond to the question. Candidates cannot complete the application until they answer all required questions.
- Use For Internal, External, Or Both?

Select which type of candidates can see the question.
- Display Order

Specify the position of the question in its presentation to the candidate.
- Question Category

Select the category to which the question belongs.
- Select The Preferred Answer

If the question is used to screen out candidates and the question type is Yes No, select the preferred answer.
- Require Follow Up Text If Answer Is

If the question is used to screen out candidates and the question type is Yes No Text, indicate whether the candidate must specify follow-up text, and for what response. For example, if you select No, the candidate must add follow-up text to a No answer.
- Score If Answer Is Yes
- If the question is Yes No or Yes No Text, then specify the numeric value that the candidate earns for answering Yes.
- Score If Answer Is No
- If the question is Yes No or Yes No Text, then specify the numeric value that the candidate earns for answering No.
- Click Save.

If you selected List as the Response Type, then
the List Answers tab is displayed. Click
Create and specify this information:
- Effective Date
- Specify the date that the answer is available.
- Display Order
- Specify the position of the answer in relation to other answers. The answer with the lowest number is shown first in the list.
- Value
- Specify the answer.
- This Is The Preferred Answer
- You can designate the answer as a preferred answer. More than one answer can be specified as a preferred answer. If this is a screen out question, then you must select one of the answers as the preferred answer.
- Score
- If the question is scored, then specify a numeric score that the candidate earns for submitting this answer.
