Defining and maintaining job posting templates

  1. Select Administrator > Talent Acquisition > Template Setup > Job Posting Templates.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Effective Date

Specify the date that the job posting template is available.

    Job Posting Template

Specify the name of the job posting template.

    Active

The template is active by default. To make the template inactive, clear the check box. Inactive templates do not appear on select lists.

    Include Job Components

Select this check box to include only job components.

    Include Position Components

Select this check box to include only position components.

    Note:

We recommend selecting both Include Job Components and Include Position Components check boxes. You can use the template by any position, and you have no way of knowing whether the job description has been defined at the job level or at the position level. If text has been defined in both places, then the template will concatenate both sets of descriptions. For example, you could have summary text at the job level and responsibilities text at the position level. Competencies and skills will include both job competencies and skills and any additional position competencies and skills.

    Include Essential Only

If the job template includes qualifications, then select this check box to include only essential qualifications. If you do not select this check box, then both essential and non-essential qualifications are included.

    Posting text

Specify a combination or actual text and variables that will make up the body of the posting text. A typical posting includes an introductory statement about the company, a summary of the position, a description of the responsibilities, a list of required qualifications, and some closing text. This is an RTF field. You can format the text using the text tool in the toolbar. To see what variable text is available to you and to select a variable, click the ellipses on the right side of this window.

  4. Click Save.

    Note:

You can update any fields except for the template name. Updating the template will update the requisition description. However, if job boards have already been added to the requisition, their text is not updated unless you remove the job boards and add them again.

    Note:

You cannot delete a template that is attached to a job requisition.
