Creating an instructions task

Use this task type to present instructions to applicants. Customers specify instructions text. Text can include text variables. Images can be added and placed within the instructions..

Examples of an Instructions task type:
  • Instructions for internal candidates to update their talent profiles
  • Instructions or general text that a customer wants to present to the candidate
  1. Select Talent Acquisition > Application Setup > Tasks.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Task
    Specify the name of the task.
    Description
    Specify a description of the task.
    Task Type
    Specify Instructions.
    Active
    Select this option to make the task active in the system. Inactive tasks are not shown in lists.
    Image URL
    To include an image with the instructions, specify the image URL. When you specify the instructions, you also specify the placement of the image in the text.
    Instructions
    Specify the text that is displayed in the message. If you added an image URL, you must locate the image in the instructions.
    1. Specify the text.
    2. If you added an image, then place the cursor where the image appears in the Instructions field.
    3. Click the ellipsis in the lower right-side corner of the Instructions field.
    4. Select Text Variable Replacement > Image > .
    Collect Attachments
    To prompt applicants to attach files to the task, select this option.
    Require Attachment Type
    This option is available when Enable Attachment Types is enabled for the organization and when the Collect Attachments option is selected for the task. Select this option to require applicants to attach files that meet the predefined file type requirements. The applicant must submit an attachment of each required type to complete the task.

    Attachment Instructions
    This option is available when Collect Attachments is selected for the task. Specify instructions for the user regarding the attachment. For example, specify that the user upload an employment history.
    Number Of Attachments Displayed
    This option is available when Collect Attachments is selected for the task. Specify the number of attachments that is shown to the user. The maximum value for this field is five.
    Number Of Attachments Required
    This option is available when Collect Attachments is selected for the task. Specify the number of files that the user is required to attach to the task. The maximum value for this field is five.
    Include Acknowledgment Text
    Select this option to include an acknowledgment in the task.
    Acknowledgment Text
    Specify instructions or other information. This option is available only when the Include Acknowledgment Text option is selected.
    Include Signature
    Select this option to include a signature in the task.
    Signature Required
    Select this option to require the applicant to provide an acknowledgment signature. This option is available only when the Include Signature option is selected
  4. Click Save.
