Observation log

A Safety Administrator or Facility Safety Manager can view observation records on the Observation Log page.

The Observation Log page can list both observations and incidents. The page has these tabs:

  • New – all observations that were initially reported by an employee or manager. Evaluation by a Facility Safety Manager or Safety Administrator is required to determine if the observation is a valid incident.
  • Input Requested – additional information requested by a Facility Safety Manager or Safety Administrator from an employee for an existing incident. For example, an input might be requested from an employee who witnessed an accident in the workplace.
  • In Review – observations that are being evaluated by a Facility Safety Manager or Safety Administrator. This tab also lists observations that are being investigated by an investigator to determine if they are valid incidents. A green alert denotes that an investigation has been completed.
  • Active – observations from which an incident has been generated or that have been attached to an incident.
  • History – observations that have been closed or completed. They might be Closed because they were not evaluated as a valid incident. Or, they might be Complete because they were evaluated as valid incidents and all processing has been completed.
