Creating leave reasons

Leave reasons provide more specific reasons for a leave. For example, a leave request for a leave type of MILITARY duty could have a reason of ACTIVATED. Leaves and leave requests are specified on a resource's record. On a leave request, the request initiator must specify both a leave type and a leave reason. A comment box is also provided for a greater explanation.

  1. Select Administrator > Set Up > Resource Components > Personal Information > Leave Of Absence > Leave Reasons.
  2. Click Create, and specify this information:
    Effective Date

    Required. Specify an effective date.

    Leave Reason

    Required. Specify the leave reason name. For example, FAMILY SICKNESS.

    Description

    Specify a description for the leave reason. If left blank, the leave type name defaults.

    Active

    Select the Active check box to make the leave reason active. The leave reason is active by default. Clear the check box to inactivate it.

  3. Click Save.
