Inviting an employee to self-identify ethnicity (Administrator)

You must have Administrator permissions to perform this task. Before performing this task:

  • Verify that a self-identification email has been finalized for this organization and country. For information about maintaining organization and country settings that affect ethnicity options, see the Infor HR Talent Setup and Administration Guide.

  • Verify that the Allow Self Identification option has been enabled for at least one ethnicity type. See Creating resource-component ethnicity options.

If no ethnicity types are enabled for self-identification, the Ethnicity Details link is not displayed on the profile.

  1. Sign in as Administrator.
  2. Select Resources > Resources.
  3. Open the profile record for the employee.
  4. On the At A Glance tab, click the Ethnicity Details link.
The Ethnicity and Race page is displayed. It shows the current Ethnicity field selection for the employee. It shows the name of the notification that is configured for this organization and country.
  5. Complete these fields:
    Send Self Identification Request
Select this check box to send the specified notification to this employee’s email address upon saving.
    Hispanic or Latino Origin
If this check box is selected, then the ethnicity code that has a Special Processing value of Hispanic associated is used as the employee’s ethnicity code.
    Race(s)
Select up to 10 for this employee. If more than one option is selected, and if the Hispanic field is not selected, then the ethnicity code that has a Special Processing field of Multiple is used as the employee’s ethnicity code.
  6. Click Submit.

An email is sent to the resource. You can track their response on the resource profile.

The resource is expected to make and save up to ten selections within the Ethnicity Details link on the At A Glance tab of the employee profile. If any of the selected ethnicities is associated with a special-processing option, the special-processing option is substituted for the selected ethnicity or ethnicities.

If an employee subsequently selects an option that is in the Ethnicity field, the latter overrides any previous selections in the Ethnicity Details link.
