Creating maximum hours by day

The maximum hours by day rule issues a warning to employees and managers when time records are created or updated and the total hours for the day exceed the amount specified on the rule. All pay codes and all work assignments are included when determining total hours for the day.

  1. Select Time Administrator > Set Up > Maximum Hours By Day.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Eligibility Group

    Select an eligibility group. Leave blank if a work assignment does not meet the criteria of any other eligibility group. You must create mutually exclusive eligibility group criteria so that a work assignment does not qualify for more than one group used. The system uses the first group found in which the work assignment meets the eligibility group criteria.

    Use For Time Entry

    Specify whether the eligibility group is used for Time Entry.

    Use For Time Off Requests

    Specify whether the eligibility group is used for Time Off Requests.

    Hours
    Specify the maximum number of hours that will be used by Time Entry or Time Off Requests. At least one must be specified.
  4. Click Save.
