New resource administration

These are the ways to add resources to an organization. Use the method appropriate for your user security and organization processes.

  • If you have the appropriate security, you can add a resource without an approval process. In this case, a single person fills in all the fields on the resource record.

  • If you are required to seek approval for adding a new resource in the system, then you must submit a hiring request in which you fill any of the fields for which you have information. Approvers can then complete part or all of the resource record, approve it, then pass it to the next person, and so on. When the last approver approves the resource, the resource is added to the organization and can then be updated as needed.

  • If a candidate is brought into Talent Acquisition, processed, and given a job offer, a hiring manager or an authorized recruiter can submit a hiring request for that candidate from within Talent Acquisition. The hiring request follows the same approval route as the previously described hiring request. Because the candidate already has a profile, a position, and a salary offer in Talent Acquisition, most of the fields are pre-populated on the requestor's request form. After the hiring request is approved, the resource is created with all of the information from Talent Acquisition. It can then be updated as needed. For more information, see the Talent Acquisition User Guide.
