Creating resource-component ethnicity options

You must have Administrator permissions to edit resource components.

  1. Sign in as Administrator.
  2. Select Set Up > Resource Components > Personal Information > Ethnicity Types.

Review the list on the Ethnicity Types page to avoid duplication of types. If a suitable type is not in Active status, it is not displayed on the employee profile. On this list, you can see which ethnicity types are available for selection during self-identification by employees.

  3. Open a record or click Create to add a new record.
  4. Complete these fields on the Ethnicity Type page:
    Effective Date

Required. Select the first date on which this ethnicity type is for display or selection within the application.

    Ethnicity Type

Required. Edit or specify the code or short identifier for the ethnicity. For example, WHITE, BLACK, ASIAN.

    Description

Edit or specify the description for the ethnicity type. This is the name that is displayed on selection lists. If left blank, the Ethnicity Type code is used.

    Active

Select this check box to indicate that the ethnicity type is to become available for display or selection on the effective date. Or, clear the check box to inactivate the ethnicity type on the effective date. Activation and inactivation of ethnicity types have no effect on existing records.

    Allow Self Identification
Select this check box to display this ethnicity type within the Ethnicity Details link of the employee profile.
    Self Identification Display

If you selected Allow Self Identification, edit or specify the description for the ethnicity type that is displayed within the Ethnicity Details link of the employee.

    Special Processing

Select an option from the list to associate it with the current ethnicity type. Available selections are Hispanic, Multiple, Nonresident Alien, and Unknown. Selecting an option causes it to be shown on the EEO summary report in lieu of the ethnicity type. Associating an option here removes it from any previously assigned ethnicity type, as each option can be associated with only one ethnicity type.

Special Processing is available for an Ethnicity Code only if the Multiple Races check box was selected on the Configurable Fields tab of the Country Configurable Fields page. For information on maintaining organization and country settings that affect ethnicity options, see the Infor HR Talent Setup and Administration Guide.

    Restrict Selection By Country
Select this check box to make the ethnicity type hidden or available depending on the country. See the Infor HR Talent Administration Guide for more information on configurable fields.
    Valid Country

Designate the country or countries in which the Special Processing selections for this ethnicity type are available.

  5. Click Save.
