Separations and job changes

A separation from the organization can be initiated by the employee (resignation) or by the employer (termination).

If an employee later is re-employed by the organizations, it can be through a rehire action or a reinstatement. A reinstatement occurs if the employee was previously terminated and is returning to the same assignment.

There are several other actions that HR administrators can take to change the role of an internal (existing) employee:

  • Transfer the employee
  • Add a work assignment
  • Promote the employee
