Social Security reporting

You can use the Generate SSN Verification Report action to create a file that can be downloaded and submitted to the Social Security Number Verification Service. The file is attached to the report header record. The Employee ID is used in the User Control Data column of the report so that the file returned by this service can be correlated with employees in the system.

You can use this report to verify that a given Social Security number is assigned to the individual whose name you submit. Verifying employee Social Security numbers ensures that your employee records are correct for completing W-2 forms and reporting wages to government agencies. You can also validate the accuracy of Social Security numbers for employees in the application to reduce invalid or duplicate entries.

Before you can create the Social Security Number Verification report, you must load delivered content at Payroll Administrator > Setup > Payroll Delivered Content. Run the Load action for SSN Verification.
