Defining workers compensation rates

Use this procedure to associate each workers compensation class with an experience rating.

  1. Select Payroll Administrator > Setup > Workers Compensation.
  2. Click the Classifications tab.
  3. Open the classification that you created in Defining workers compensation classes.
  4. In the Workers Compensation Rates section, click Create.
  5. Specify this information:
    Job Classification Codes
    Select a job classification code. These codes are defined by your administrator.
    Rate
    The experience rate or percent is required for each classification code. If you completed the Premium Per Wages or the Premium Per Hours field, type a rate amount in this field.
    Percent
    The experience rate or percent is required for each Classification Code. If you did not complete the Premium Per Wages or the Premium Per Hours field, type the experience rate as a percent.
    Wage Limit
    To assign a specific limit to each class, specify the limit amount. You cannot specify an amount in this field if you specified an amount in the Wage Limit field for classification.
    Limit Indicator
    If you specified an amount in the Limit field, select whether the amount is annual or monthly.
  6. Click Save.
