Pay summary groups

A pay summary group combines one or more pay codes for these purposes:

  • To store pay history
  • To determine how taxes on pay are calculated
  • To determine the description of pay that is displayed on payments and reports
  • To define parameters for Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime calculation
  • To define the tax reporting form associated with United States pay
  • To define the type of tip pay for a tipped payment

To define the pay codes that belong to a pay summary group, you attach each pay code to a pay summary group. Each pay code can be attached to only one pay summary group, but a pay summary group can be attached to multiple pay codes.
