Wage expense account

The wage expense account represents the posting account where you post the debit entry for salary and wage expense. This account defaults wage expense accounts for the employee's time record.

Payroll Distribution overrides the normal distribution of wage by percentage for an employee or position.

  • When the Payroll Distribution check box is selected on a time record, a payroll distribution override is defined for the selected employee or position and pay code. The account information defined in Payroll Distribution Override for the employee or the position overrides the account information on the time record when you close payroll.
  • To remove the general ledger information defined on the time record, clear the Payroll Distribution check box.
