Columnar replication sets for payroll

To access columnar replication sets, select Administration Console > Database > Replication.

Features for time record totals depend on the COL_GHR_ST and COL_TIMERECORD_ST delivered columnar replication sets.

Features for register reports depend on the COL_GHR_ST and COL_PAYROLL_ST delivered columnar replication sets.

  • COL_GHR_ST
    • This replication set includes data related to employee and HR setup (PaymentSchedule, HRLocation, HROrganizationUnit, LegalEntity, Employee, WorkAssignment).
    • Replicate this replication set at least once manually.
    • Schedule the replication set in the Administration Console to replicate as often as employee and setup data changes must be reflected. For example, an employee’s name changes.
  • COL_PAYROLL_ST
    • This replication set includes payroll-related data (EmployeePayrollCycle, EmployeePayment, EmployeeDirectDeposit).
    • Manually replicate this replication set once to replicate existing payroll data into columnar tables.
    • This replication set is replicated automatically during the Calculate Payments, Print Payments, Close Payroll, and Close Off Cycle Payroll actions.
    • The Payroll Administrator must run the Replicate Payroll Columnar Data action to replicate new off cycle payments for the Off Cycle Payroll Register.
    • The Replicate Payroll Columnar Data action is only valid if these situations apply:
      • The replication sets are valid.
      • Use Delivered Columnar Replication Sets has been enabled in Payroll Configuration.
      • A replication is currently not running for the payroll replication set.
    • The date and time that the data was last replicated is displayed on the search form after a search is performed on the payroll registers.
  • COL_TIMERECORD_ST
    • This replication set includes time record data (EmployeeTimerecord).
    • Manually replicate this replication set once to replicate existing payroll data into columnar tables.
    • Replicate this replication set when new totals are needed on the Time Record Totals report as data changes. The Replicate Time Record Columnar Data action is available to the Payroll Administrator on the Time Record Totals report to initiate a replication on demand for this replication set.
Note: If a customer has existing replication sets for the same business class as what has been delivered, then those replication sets must be stopped.
  • Only one set is active and replicated.
  • A warning is displayed on the Replicated Business Class name if a duplicate exists.
  • User fields to be replicated for delivered business classes must be added to the delivered replication set. This action must occur for the fields to be included in the replicated columnar data for that business class.

See KB article 2129639 for more information about delivered replication sets.
