Use this procedure to identify retirement plan information for updating W-2 Box 13
Retirement Plan Indicator EFW2 RW retirement indicator.
Note: The Year-End programs automatically
update Box 13 for employees with deduction history on deductions with a pretax
retirement Tax Status or a Roth Tax Status. Use this topic if you have employees
who contribute to a retirement plan with after tax deductions or company paid
deductions.
Specify this information:
- Retirement Deduction Class

Select the deduction class that shows the employer or employee contribution to an employee's retirement plan.
The Year End programs will check for employee deduction history in the identified deduction class to control updating Box 13 Retirement Plan.
- Defined Benefit Or Defined Contribution Plan Type
- If you want the program to create a list of deduction codes tied to Benefit Plan DB/DC type plans, select this check box. The Year End programs will check for employee deduction history in the identified deduction class to control updating Box 13 Retirement Plan.
