Employee reassignment to another manager

These actions occur when an employee is reassigned to another manager.

  • If the Automatic Appraisal Reassignment check box is selected on the Organization Configuration form:
    • The employee's new manager is assigned ownership of the employee's performance appraisals. The new manager's upline manager now has Inquiry, Reassign, and Assign Peer Appraisal access to the employee's performance appraisal.
    • If the employee's direct manager position is vacant, the next upline manager is assigned ownership of the performance appraisal. The next upline manager is the next upline supervisor role that is not vacant. On the upline manager's view, the manager is displayed as No resources assigned.
    • If the new manager wants the former manager to complete a performance appraisal, the new manager reassigns ownership to the former manager. The former manager can complete the appraisal and reassign the appraisal to the new manager before it is submitted.
  • If the Automatic Appraisal Reassignment check box is not selected on the Organization Configuration form:
    • The former manager retains ownership of the employee's performance appraisals. The former manager's direct manager, who is the upline appraisal owner, gets Inquiry, Reassign, and Peer feedback access through the inbasket.
    • The new manager and new upline manager have Inquiry, Reassign, and Assign Peer Feedback access to the performance appraisals. They cannot update them unless they reassign the appraisals to themselves.
    • Either the former manager or the new manager, or the new upline manager, or the new upline appraisal owner can reassign the appraisal.
