Performance Management roles

The Performance Management review cycle is conducted through your organization's human resources department, its resources, and their managers.

Role Tasks
HR administrator
  1. Defines the Performance Management components which include notification components, rating scales, rater types, criteria, criteria groups, and appraisal sections.
  2. Defines appraisal forms, including the form rules and schedule. Adds sections to the appraisal forms, orders the sections, and assigns roles and weights to each section.
  3. When it is time for reviews, generates the specific appraisal records for specific resources and their managers. For each resource, a self-appraisal and a manager appraisal is generated by the system.
  4. Makes the appraisal forms available to the resources and managers.
  5. Can select other raters on behalf of a resource or manager.
  6. Monitors the status of performance reviews.
  7. Can perform resource and manager actions on their behalf.
Resources
  1. Receive a copy of their self-appraisal form in the Employee Space. They also receive an appraisal form for each resource for whom they are completing an other rater review. The forms are in Draft status.
  2. If they receive a request to select other raters in their inbasket, submit the list of other raters directly from their inbasket.
  3. Complete their self-appraisal, including proposing goals and requesting activities for the next appraisal period.
  4. Complete reviews for resources for whom they have been asked to be an other rater.
  5. Review their performance appraisal when finalized by their manager.
  6. Acknowledge the final version of their performance appraisal, with comments.
Managers
  1. Receive an appraisal form for each of their direct reports in the Manager Space.
  2. Can select resources to perform other rater reviews for their direct reports and approve resources submitted as other raters by their direct reports.
  3. Review self-appraisal and other rater appraisals for their direct reports.
  4. Complete their appraisals of each direct report.
  5. Define resource goals, activities, or both as a result of the review.
