Direct manager reassignment

These actions occur when an employee's direct manager is reassigned.

  • If the Automatic Appraisal Reassignment check box is selected on the Organization Configuration form:
    • If there is no other manager for that supervisor role, the former manager's upline manager becomes the owner of the former manager's performance appraisals. The upline manager can reassign the appraisals. On the upline manager's view, the manager is displayed as No resources assigned.
    • If there is another manager for that supervisor role, the other manager becomes the owner of all the former manager's performance appraisals. The upline manager retains Inquiry, Reassign, and Assign Peer Appraisal access to the performance appraisals.
    • If several managers exist for that supervisor role, the manager with the lowest employment ID becomes the appraisal owner.
  • If the Automatic Appraisal Reassignment check box is not selected on the Organization Configuration form:
    • The former manager retains ownership of the performance appraisals and can reassign them to a different manager.
    • The former manager's former upline manager retains Inquiry, Reassign, and Peer Feedback access to the performance appraisals, but not ownership. The former upline manager or the former manager can reassign the appraisals to a different manager who then becomes the owner.
