Previewing appraisal forms

You can preview an appraisal form for a specific employee to verify all the sections included in the form when you create the appraisal.

When you preview the appraisal form, the form is updated with the latest changes to the information in the appraisal form sections. This information includes the position criteria, user-defined criteria, and competency models.

Note: This functionality is meant to be used only when you are assembling the appraisal form. After resource appraisals have been created for an appraisal form, the Preview With Resource action is no longer available. As an alternative, you can create a preliminary appraisal for a resource, review the appraisal on the Preliminary tab of Appraisals Maintenance, and delete it.
  1. Select Administrator > Performance > Appraisal Forms.
  2. On the Forms tab, open the appraisal form.
  3. Click the Preview With Resource link.
  4. Specify the employment ID and work assignment of the employee to preview and click Preview Appraisal.

The Print To File Options box is displayed.

  5. Click Print.

A PDF version of the preview form is generated.

Note: The appraisal preview form is not identical to the actual appraisal form that is seen by the resource and the manager of the resource. This information is displayed in the preview form:
    • The sections included in the appraisal
    • The contents of the Header and Resource sections, if applicable
    • The questions in the Criteria sections
    • The rating scale that is used
    • The sections included on the rating calculations
For goals, the preview form only includes the types of goals included and whether they are rated. The resource's specific goals and activities are not listed. They are included only when an appraisal is generated for the resource for a specific review period.
