Changing appraisal rules for historical appraisals

To change the appraisal rules, use this procedure:

  1. Select Administrator > Performance > Appraisal Forms.
  2. Select the appraisal form and select Actions > Change Rules.
  3. Specify this information:
    Allow Managers To Create Appraisals
    If you select this check box, managers can create appraisals based on this appraisal form for their own employees.
    Appraisal Text: Default Organization Appraisal Text
    If you select this check box, any appraisal text defined for the organization is displayed on the Appraisal Text tab when you save the appraisal form. You can then modify it.

    If you do not select this check box, no appraisal text displayed for this form unless you specify it on the Appraisal Text tab.

    Appraisal Acknowledgment Flow: Options
    Select Manager Submits To Employees for the appraisal to go directly to the employee. The employee can acknowledge the appraisal on the Pending Acknowledgment tab of My Reviews.

    Select Manager Submits To Upline Manager for the appraisal to be routed by a Process Server flow that can be customized. By default, the flow is routed first to the manager's manager, then to the employee. In this case, all recipients acknowledge the appraisal from their inbasket by selecting Start > My Inbasket.

    Upline Approval Routing
    Select the flow to route a submitted approval.
    • Select Follow Direct Manager to follow the supervisory structure for the employee's current manager.
    • Select Follow Appraisal Owner to follow the supervisory structure for the submitting appraisal owner, even if the employee is not a direct report of the appraisal owner.
    Default Overall Score To Overall Rating
    Select this check box for the system-calculated overall score to default to the overall rating.
    Manager Can Override Overall Rating
    Select this check box for the manager to override the system-calculated rating.
  4. Click OK.
