Setup requirements

  • The Enable Action Plans check box must be selected on the Goal Configuration page. Select Goals > Organization Configuration.
  • The Goal Action Plans option must be selected on the Configurable Features tab of the organization setup form.
  • The goal type used for the resource goal must have the Use Action Plan option selected.
  • A goal year must be defined. The goal year determines the action plan schedule.
  • On the goal year, any goal type that uses action plans for which you want an action plan to be required must have the Action Plan Required option selected.
  • On the goal year, any goal type that uses action plans for which you want the action plan to be subject to approval must have the Action Plan Approval Required option selected.
    Note: Goals created for goal types that use action plans but do not require them, can still use action plans. Either the employee or the manager must use the Create Action Plan action to generate the action plan schedule. If an action plan is required, the schedule is generated automatically when the goal is created.
