Staff reporting types

The following reporting types exist. Each is flagged with an icon on My Staff.

Reporting type Description Icon

Direct report

or

Temporary direct report

An employee for whom you are identified as a Direct Manager (or direct supervisor) on a work assignment.

or

An employee whose identified direct manager is currently a vacant position, for which you are the upline manager (one level above the direct manager in the manager structure).

Because most of your staff will be direct reports, this icon is displayed only if the staff also has another relationship type with you; for example if you are also a dotted line manager on one of the staff's work assignments. No icon displays if a staff is only a direct report.

Dotted line report

or

Temporary dotted line report

An employee for whom you are identified as a Dotted Line Manager (or indirect supervisor) on a work assignment.

or

An employee whose identified dotted line manager is currently a vacant position, for which you are the upline manager (one level above the dotted line manager in the manager structure).

Is also a manager

A direct, dotted line, temporary direct, or temporary dotted line report who is also identified as a manager.
