Changing the name or marital status of an employee

You can change the name and marital status of employees reporting to you. Employees, administrators, and HR generalists can also make these changes.

  1. In Manager space, select My Staff > My Staff.
  2. Select the employee for whom to request a name change.
  3. In the Profile panel, click the View Full Profile link.
  4. Click Change Name.
  5. Specify the effective date and the name change.
  6. Optionally, specify the reason for the name change, select the marital status, and specify any other changes.
  7. If your organization requires approval for name changes, you can attach a supporting document and specify comments.

    If email notifications are used, the supporting document is attached to the email notifications.

  8. Click OK.
    Note: 
    • If your organization does not require approval for a name change, your changes are displayed throughout Infor HR Talent.

    • If your organization requires approval for a name change, a Pending Name Changes link is displayed on the At A Glance tab.

    • If an employee requests a name change, the Pending Name Change link is displayed. You can see and modify the employee's pending request. The employee can see and modify your pending request.

      • Click the Pending Name link and open the record to view and make changes to your request or your employee's request. You can also cancel your request or your employee's request by selecting Actions > Cancel Request.
      • You can make changes until the name change is approved. When the name change is approved, the Pending Name Changes link is removed and the new name is displayed on the employee's profile.
      • If the administrator or generalist returns the name change request, a red flag is displayed next to the request when you click the Pending Name Changes link. You can make the changes requested by the administrator or generalist, save the changes, and resubmit the request. Or, you can cancel the request.
      • If the administrator or generalist rejects the request, the Pending Name Changes link is removed and no change is made.
      • If anyone cancels the request, the Pending Name Changes link is removed and no change is made.
