Submitting a resource's action plans for approval (administrator)

Employees will typically submit their own action plans for approval. However, administrators can perform this action on any resource's behalf.

Before you submit a resource's action plans for approval, you must make sure that all the resource's Draft action plans for the year and period that you want to submit for approval are defined and ready to be submitted. Once you submit a year and period for approval and the manager approves the action plans for the year and period, you will no longer be able to submit other action plans for approval for that year and period. If you create action plans for the same year and period after your action plans have received approval, they will be created in Approved status, even if the goal type requires approval.

  1. Access Administrator > Goals > Resource Goals.
  2. Select the resource for whom you want to submit action plans.
  3. On the Resources panel, click Action Plans.
  4. Search on the goal year and period that you want to submit for approval.

All the goals that have action plans created for the year and period display. The goals that require action plan approval are in Draft status.

  5. Review, update, or define all the resource's action plans that are in Draft status for the year and period.
  6. When you are satisfied with the action plans that require approval for the year and period, select any of the Draft action plans and click Submit Action Plans.
  7. On Submit Action Plan For A Goal and A Period, select the goal year and period for the action plans you want to submit for approval, and click OK.

The status of all the goal action plans changes to Submitted.

If notifications are configured, the manager will receive a notification.

Note:

Because the administrator also has access to the manager actions, the administrator could approve or reject all the action items on behalf of the manager.

  • If the manager approves the action plans, their status will change to Approved.

  • If the manager rejects the action plans, their status will return to Draft. You can click the Comments tab to view the reason why the manager rejected the action plans.

    Note:

All rejected action plans will have the same comments.
