Goal types

Goal types are required on all employee goals. A goal type provides a way to classify goals (for example, SHORT-TERM, LONG-TERM, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT). It also determines whether an employee goal is rated.

If you use rated goals, at least one rating scale must be defined to be used for goals.

Rated goals can be used to evaluate a resource's performance in Performance Management and in Compensation.

If your organization uses Compensation, and bonus objectives are used to calculate incentive pay, you must define at least one rated goal type to be used for bonus objectives.

Note:

Bonus objectives are goals that can be defined in Goal Management or in Compensation and that are directly associated with an employee's compensation program.
