Completing an employee goal (manager)

Managers can complete a goal for a reporting employee. Employees can also complete their own goals.

You can also complete employee goals on Manager > Develop Employees > Development Plans or on Manager > My Staff > View Full Profile.

  1. Select Manager > My Staff.
  2. Select the employee whose goal you want to update.
  3. On the Active tab, right-click the goal and select Complete.
  4. Specify the percentage of completion, the date of completion, a rating level, and comments.
  5. Click OK.
    The goal is moved to the Historical tab and to the Historical Goals panel on the Goals tab of the employee's development plan and profile.

    You can view and add comments to a completed goal, however, only an administrator can delete a completed goal.

    Note: Managers and employees cannot change the goal after it is completed. However, if you open a completed goal from a performance appraisal, you can update or add the rating level. The new rating is applied to the employee's historical goal.
