Aligning employee goals with organizational goals (administrator)

An employee goal can be aligned with an organizational goal at the time it is created (by an employee, manager, or administrator). After the goal is activated, you can remove or change the organizational goal, or you can add another organizational goal.

  1. Access Administrator > Goals > Resource Goals.
  2. Locate and select the employee that you want to update.
  3. On the Active tab, open the goal for which you want to align an organizational goal.
  4. Access Aligned Goals.
  5. On the Align Organizational Goals form, click New.
  6. In the Organizational Goal field, select the appropriate organizational goal and click Save.
  7. To remove an organizational goal, on the Aligned Goals tab, select the aligned organizational goal, click Delete, and click Yes to confirm.

Guidelines for aligning employee goals

  • The organizational goal must be Active and Finalized.

  • The organizational goal's end date must be greater than or equal to the current date.

  • The employee goal's dates must overlap the organizational goal dates.

    Note:

You can change the dates of both the organizational goal and the employee goal after the employee goal is aligned, except for goals where a goal year is required..

  • An employee goal can be aligned with multiple organizational goals.

  • If you choose a goal category on the employee goal, all aligned goals must also be associated with that category.

  • If you leave the Goal Category field blank on the employee goal, you can align the employee goal with multiple organizational goals of any category.
