Specifying goal result ranges

Goal result ranges are available based on how the organization is configured. The Goal External Results option must be selected on the Organization's Configurable Features tab.

You can specify goal result ranges on organizational goals or on resource goals.

  1. Open the goal for which to specify result ranges, and click the Rating Criteria tab.
  2. Read the instructions. Depending on the Better Results Are option that is selected on the goal, specify values in a different order.
If you selected Lower (lower results are better), specify values from the highest to the lowest:
    • The Result Range From value for the highest level is automatically set to the lowest value possible (-999,999.00)
    • The Result Range Thru value for level 1 is automatically set to the highest value possible (999,999.00)

If you selected Higher (higher results are better), specify values from the lowest to the highest:

    • The Result Range Thru value for the highest level is automatically set to the highest value possible (999,999.00)
    • The Result Range From value for level 1 is automatically set to the lowest value possible (-999,999.00)
  3. Specify the Result Range From values in the order specified by the instructions. The system will automatically calculate the Result Range Thru values when you save the result ranges. Negative numbers are allowed. You can use the Result Criterion column to specify a unit of measurement. For example, % or $.
Note: A red alert denotes if numbers are not specified, if they are specified in the wrong order, or if the numbers overlap.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click the Detail tab to view how the result ranges are displayed. This is how the ranges will display to all users who have access to the goal.
Note: The fields that are displayed are defined on the rating scale on theGoal Results tab.
