Defining goal or action plan email templates

Define an email template for each action that you want to configure a notification for.

To insert variables in the To, From, Cc and Bcc fields, as well as in the Subject field, right-click > Variables. To view variables available in the body of the message, click the {A} icon in the text box tool bar.

Separate multiple email addresses with a comma. Both variable and actual email addresses are accepted.

To define goal or goal action plan email templates

  1. To define goal, goal activity, goal comment, goal alignment, and goal rating criteria email templates, select Administrator > Setup > Goals > Goal Email Templates.
  2. Click New.
  3. Specify this information:
    Effective Date

    Select the date on which the email template is effective.

    Goal Email Template

    Required. Specify the template's name.

    Description

    Specify the template's description

    Active

    The email template is active by default. clear the check box to inactivate it.

    Preferred Email Language

    You can select the language that the email will be translated to for the recipients. If you leave this field blank, the organization's base language is used.

    Note: 

    This field appears only if Dynamic Embedded translation (DET) is used.

    To

    Required. Select the variable representing the email address of the recipient.

    CC, BCC

    Optionally select the cc or bcc recipients of the email. Separate multiple email addresses with a comma.

    From

    Required. Select the variable that represents the sender.

    Subject

    Type the subject of the notification. Variables are available in this field also.

    Body

    Specify the text of the email. This is a Rich Text field that lets you format the text. Click the {A} icon on the text box tool bar to see what variables are available to you for the body of the message.

  4. Click Save.
  5. To define goal action plan email templates, select Administrator > Setup > Goals > Goal Action Plan Email Templates.
  6. Click New.
  7. Specify the required information as described in steps 3 and 4.

    The email templates defined on this form can be used only for action plan events.
