Text search rebuild actions scheduling

Use these guidelines to suspend or schedule actions for text search in rebuild maintenance.

The text search rebuild actions synchronize text search results with changes since the last rebuild action was completed.

These text search rebuild actions are available:
  • Rebuild Pending Search Content is run by the automatically scheduled rebuild action to rebuild everything that has been updated since the last rebuild action completed.
  • Rebuild Specified Search Content allows the user to specify a subset of search text data to rebuild.
  • Scheduling text search rebuild actions
    • An optimized text search rebuild schedule is delivered by default. Because this optimized schedule automatically adjusts to run only as frequently as resources allow, it is unnecessary to change the default schedule interval.
    • When dynamic rebuild actions are not suspended, text search rebuild actions are designed to run by default once every two minutes or immediately after the previous dynamic rebuild is successfully completed, whichever is longer.
    • Text search rebuild action schedules can be adjusted to meet the needs and tolerances of your tenant.
  • Suspending text search rebuild actions
    • Suspending text search rebuild actions temporarily is suggested during an implementation or when other processes are running to load or update large amounts of data.
    • When dynamic rebuild actions are suspended temporarily, system performance can improve by reducing system overhead.
