Deleted and inactive jobs

You cannot delete a job that has been assigned to a position. You must first delete the position and then the job.

You can inactivate a job so that no more positions can be newly associated with it. When you inactivate a job, the effect on existing positions depends on job-position synchronization:

  • If a position is synchronized to an inactivated job, the position is set to Inactive.
  • If a position is associated with an inactivated job but not synchronized, the position is not automatically set to Inactive. Active Positions can use an Inactive Job.

Positions associated with an inactive job, whether synchronized or not, are listed on the job's Positions field. When you inactivate a job, you can check the positions and inactivate them or assign a different job to that position.
